Towards Central Vietnam – nearly VND 300 million for Quảng Bình after the floods
Medical equipment, supplies for kindergartens and rice seed for 60 poor households in the three districts of Tuyên Hóa, Lệ Thủy and Quảng Ninh.
On 21–22 November 2020, after historic floods in Central Vietnam, the Từ Bi Tâm Fund – Capital House Group (the forerunner of the Green Life Charity Fund (Sống Xanh)) travelled to Quảng Bình with the programme “Towards Central Vietnam” (“Hướng về miền Trung”), providing support worth nearly VND 300 million in total across three districts.
Three districts, three kinds of support
- Tuyên Hóa – VND 64.4 million: equipment for the Phong Hóa commune health station, supplies for Nam Phong and Minh Cầm kindergartens, and gifts for 4 families in hardship.
- Lệ Thủy – VND 108 million: working with the District Women’s Union, the Fund presented VND 100 million worth of rice seed to 60 poor households in An Thủy commune whose crops were damaged by the floods, plus gifts for 4 families.
- Quảng Ninh – VND 103.6 million: equipment for the District Medical Centre and one commune health station, and gifts for 4 families.
Earlier, in 2016, the Fund had supported women and children in Tuyên Hóa district after a flood.
