Supporting women and children in Hà Tĩnh and Quảng Bình
Loans and livelihoods for poor women, supplies for schools, equipment for health stations and gifts for 186 households after the floods.
In November 2016, the Từ Bi Tâm Fund reached out to women and children in two districts: Hương Khê (Hà Tĩnh) and Tuyên Hóa (Quảng Bình).
Livelihoods for women in Hương Khê
The Fund signed agreements with the local authorities and the Hương Khê District Women’s Union:
- VND 130 million in loan capital to set up a new savings and credit group in Hương Trạch commune.
- VND 70 million for a livelihood project buying chicks for poor households.
Schools, health stations and people in the flood area
The Fund gave toys and supplies to 4 kindergartens and 1 primary school, and medical equipment to 2 commune health stations in Hương Khê and Tuyên Hóa. After the floods, 186 poor households in Hương Hóa commune, Tuyên Hóa district, each received 1 warm blanket and 10 kg of rice.
