Openness about income and spending is one of the Fund’s five operating principles, and an obligation written into its charter.

Cap on management costs
Spending on running the Fund may not exceed 5% of annual income; in exceptional cases the Management Board may raise this to a maximum of 10%.

Donations for flood, disaster and emergency relief are passed on in full as soon as the money and goods are received.

Regular disclosure
Lists of contributions and beneficiaries, and financial reports, are published every quarter and every year.

Public reports
Each year the Fund reports on its organisation, activities and finances to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Finance before 31 December, and publishes its contributions before 31 March.
