Volunteers preparing meals at the Từ Tâm Vegetarian Kitchen

The free vegetarian kitchens at Ecohome 1 and Ecohome 2 are back after social distancing, each serving 45–60 meals a day.

The Từ Tâm Vegetarian Kitchen is a free vegetarian kitchen run by Capital House Group, the Từ Bi Tâm Fund and Ecolife Property Management JSC in the Ecohome 1 and Ecohome 2 urban areas, serving workers and people in difficult circumstances.

Suspended in May 2021 because of Covid-19, the kitchen reopened at the beginning of October 2021, with each kitchen serving around 50 lunches from Monday to Friday. In the month after reopening, the two kitchens served more than 2,500 meals, an average of 45–60 meals per kitchen per day.

Donation boxes

In October 2021, the kitchen’s donation box received VND 5,045,000. The Fund is putting this money towards its charitable activities at Tết (Lunar New Year) and during the Vu Lan festival. The kitchen’s donation boxes also contributed part of the funding to build the Chăm Pu satellite school in Quảng Bình.

During the outbreak in Bắc Giang in June 2021, the kitchen sent 70 kg of sesame salt, 50 kg of salted roasted peanuts and 30 kg of roasted peanuts to quarantine areas, together with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Bông Sen Vàng fund.
