Co-funding the Chăm Pu satellite school, Quảng Bình

On the afternoon of 11 June 2021, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Chăm Pu village satellite school of Thượng Trạch No. 2 Primary School, Thượng Trạch commune, Bố Trạch district, Quảng Bình province. The satellite school had been badly damaged in the floods of October–November 2020.

The Fund – then still called the Từ Bi Tâm Fund – co-funded the project with VND 100 million, as part of the “A Wish for You” (“Điều ước cho em”) programme launched by the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training.

Contributions from many hearts

The funding came from Ecohome 3 residents, teachers and parents at GCA Ecohome 1 and GCA Ecolife Tố Hữu, the donation boxes at the Từ Tâm Vegetarian Kitchen (Ecohome 1 and 2), and the Fund’s own budget.

Because of the Covid-19 situation, representatives of the Fund were unable to attend the groundbreaking ceremony in person. The building was expected to be completed by the end of September 2021.
