Groundbreaking for the Vàng Doọc satellite school, Bắc Kạn — the sixth satellite school

On 14 January 2024, the Green Life Charity Fund (Sống Xanh) and its partners held a groundbreaking ceremony for a “Beautiful Schools for Children” (“Trường đẹp cho em”) project at the Vàng Doọc satellite school of Bình Trung Kindergarten, Bình Trung commune, Chợ Đồn district, Bắc Kạn province.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Bắc Kạn Provincial Youth Union, the Bắc Kạn Provincial Police, the Chợ Đồn District Office of Education and Training, commune leaders and the school.

VND 240 million from the Sống Xanh Charity Fair 2023

The project has a total budget of VND 240 million, raised at the Eco Xmas Fair 2023 — the Sống Xanh Charity Fair 2023. The community of parents, pupils and teachers of the GCA education system alone contributed more than VND 90 million. Also contributing were Ecolife Property Management JSC, the Genesis education system, Ecohome 1, 2, 3, EcoLife Capitol and EcoLife Riverside residents, and staff of Capital House Group.

“Understanding the difficult journey to school and the effort the pupils make, and wishing them a spacious, clean place to learn, the Fund called for and raised VND 240 million with the aim of building a school for the children of Vàng Doọc. It may be small in material terms, but it reflects the empathy and sharing of many benefactors, parents, pupils and residents of Capital House Group.”

— Mr Nguyễn Văn Thuận, representative of the Green Life Charity Fund

“We deeply treasure and thank the Fund and the members of the delegation for their kindness, and above all the generosity of the pupils, parents and residents of Capital House Group towards the pupils, families and teachers here.”

— Ms Hứa Hoàng Anh, representative of the Chợ Đồn District Office of Education and Training

Tết gifts for Vàng Doọc and Bản Pèo

During the trip, the delegation presented more than 130 Tết gift packs to children and families in Vàng Doọc and Bản Pèo village. Parents, pupils and teachers of the Genesis education system — with money raised from a fair, vegetable sales and painting sales — joined the Fund in presenting 157 gifts worth more than VND 40 million to 32 households and 115 pupils, along with bánh chưng (traditional rice cakes) for the families to celebrate Tết.

The sixth satellite school

Vàng Doọc is the sixth satellite school the Fund has helped build, following satellite schools in Quảng Nam, Hà Giang, Yên Bái, Quảng Bình and Điện Biên. Total donations to the satellite school programme have now exceeded VND 1 billion.
